SNUG Update
Soft Network Users Group
announces cancellation of SNUG 2020
On Thursday, March 12, in response to growing concerns regarding the spread of the novel coronavirus
(widely referred to as COVID-19), the SNUG Executive Board and the SCC Soft Computer leadership team made
the difficult and unprecedented decision to cancel the upcoming 28th Annual SNUG Conference, which was
scheduled for May 3 – 7, 2020, at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach, Florida.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of SNUG 2020. However, with the rapid spread of this
virus and the travel bans that have been set in place, we felt it was necessary to take this proactive step and cancel while
refunds were still available to all registered attendees and vendors while also protecting the health and well-being of all
those engaged in the conference.”
Sonal Pandey | 2019/2020 SNUG President
Supervisor LIS Applications | Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital
“This decision was especially hard because so many SCC clients and staff have spent countless hours planning and
preparing to attend SNUG’s annual conference and meeting and present technical sessions. I would like to especially
thank the many speakers and session leaders who ensure that each annual meeting harbors best in class educational
opportunities. Our meeting was on track to be one of the best ever.”
Jeff Marr | Director of Client Services | SCC Soft Computer
As disappointed as SNUG and SCC are of this outcome, we are proud of the positive efforts applied as we
planned SNUG 2020. We’ll leverage these efforts in Q3 and Q4 2020 as we begin the work of planning
SNUG 2021—with the memories and lessons learned from our shared experiences with COVID-19 clearly
in the rear-view mirror.
We hope you can join us next year for SNUG 2021, scheduled for May 9 – 13 at the Sheraton Sand
Key Resort on Clearwater Beach, Florida. Please mark your calendars now, as you won’t want to
miss next year’s annual conference and the opportunity to network with your colleagues from across
SCC’s global client base as well as your SCC support team. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
We appreciate your understanding as well as your vision and your continued commitment to leveraging
the power of healthcare information technology to assist you on your mission to provide cutting edge
care to your patients. Your visionary outlook and ability to always seek solutions rather than focus on
problems is key to success in clinical diagnostics and healthcare IT—and will be key to winning the
battle to contain COVID-19. We wish you well during this public health emergency and always.
