SNUG 2018 Recap

This update regarding SNUG 2018 (SNUG’s 26th annual conference, meeting,
and expo) is provided by SCC Soft Computer, SNUG 2018 Diamond Sponsor,
on behalf of the Soft Network Users Group and the SNUG Executive Board.

It’s hard to believe that SNUG 2018 is already behind us. As we close the books on this chapter and start
gearing up for SNUG 2019 conference planning, here are some highlights from our most recent annual
conference, meeting, and expo. We are pleased to share that SNUG 2018 was a success! With a bit of a
Sherlock Holmes vibe, we explored medical mysteries and the unknown—and how healthcare IT and the
laboratory help us unravel these enigmas! Conference attendees encountered the unexpected … and
had a few “mysteries” to solve at Clinical Conundrums, Medical Mysteries, and Diagnostic Dilemmas |
Just Deduce IT!
This year, 120 attendees (including 47 first-time attendees) representing 58 different SCC client sites
gathered for SNUG’s 26 annual Healthcare Information Technology Summit.

The four-day conference provided educational sessions, hands-on lab
access, workshops, and networking events and featured four tracks in
addition to the product tracks.

Of the 57 total sessions …
• 47 were unique, 4 were repeats, and 7 were two-hour
expanded sessions
• 38 were presented by SCC staff (40 sessions total with
2 repeats) and 6 by SCC users (8 sessions total with 2
repeats)
• 3 were co-presented by SCC staff/SCC users

• 6 were presented by SNUG Platinum vendors
This year, 13 vendor sponsors helped make the conference a
success.

During the annual SNUG Business Meeting Tuesday morning at the
conference, the 2018/2019 SNUG Executive Board was
elected. The incoming board was introduced
at SCC’s annual Client Appreciation
Banquet, mist(ə)rē, an evening of
dining, dancing, and mystery-solving.
