From the CEO’S Desk
It was nice to see so many familiar faces at SNUG 2018 in May, and we enjoyed meeting some
new friends as well. Of the 120 attendees at SNUG’s 26th annual conference, meeting, and
expo, 47 were first-time attendees. I hope that everyone benefited from four days of educational
sessions, hands-on lab access, workshops, and networking events—and were able to bring
home at least one new idea, best practice, or lesson learned to help you get the most from
your SCC systems.
Introducing SCC’s new Vice President of Global Healthcare IT Solutions
Mr. Gary S. Weiner, MBA
SCC Soft Computer welcomed Mr. Gary S. Weiner, MBA, to the SCC team in April as our new
Vice President of Global Healthcare IT Solutions. Gary will help ensure alignment between
corporate and customer goals by providing support and acting as a liaison between internal and
external customers in Product Development, Implementation, Project Management, and Sales
Support with a focus on SCC’s internal corporate strategy. Gary will engage SCC’s clients, their
C-suites, and senior management with strategic and operations discussions to better align their
business strategies and practices with SCC’s product strategy.
Gary is an accomplished healthcare IT executive with 30 years of diverse business and
operational experience within the healthcare arena. He began his journey with SCC Soft Computer
on April 16, 2018. Gary most recently served as Vice President of Information Technology and
Chief Information Officer from 2010 to 2018 with Community Foundation of NWI (CFNI), a $1billion,
three-hospital healthcare system that includes a 180-physician practice, long-term care, home
health, a clinically integrated network, and performing arts center in Munster, Indiana. Under
his leadership, CFNI achieved HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 EMRAM, which only five percent of all
institutions attain, as well as the Microsoft Innovation Award.
Additionally, Gary has been on the healthcare advisory boards to several Fortune 500 companies,
the Computer Information Technology programs at Purdue and Indiana Universities, as well as
adjunct faculty member at Purdue University. Gary has been a presenter and guest lecturer at
many conferences and universities such as New York University, North Eastern, and University of
Connecticut to name a few.
Gary has been honored with the prestigious Patriot Award from the United States government for
supporting our troops while deployed overseas as an employer.
He has a strong track record of improving the overall productivity of operations and performance,
and he is highly skilled at identifying and leveraging IT advances that increase revenue and
reduce costs.
We are pleased that Gary has chosen to join the SCC team. We look forward to leveraging his
experience and expertise to benefit SCC and our valued clients.
