SCC Soft Computer honored with 2008 Training Top 125 award

Clearwater, FL - Training magazine has announced that SCC Soft Computer was selected for the sixth time in seven years for a coveted place among many of the world’s top companies for employee-sponsored workforce training and development. The Training Top 125 is considered the most elite ranking among Fortune 500 companies for workforce training and leadership development.

Last year, Training added 25 more positions to the annual ranking, changed it to the Training Top 125, and included companies from around the globe.

With this year’s ranking, SCC’s upward climb since 2002 has continued, securing the Company a coveted position among the elite Training Top 10, coming in with a ranking of 8th out of 125.

SCC received its award at the black tie “Belles and Beaus” gala held on February 4, the first night of the Training 2008 Conference & Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

With its placement for the first time in the Training Top 10, SCC joins the ranks of industry powerhouses PricewaterhouseCoopers (1), Verizon Wireless (4), Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (6), General Mills (7), and Microsoft Corporation (9).

With its ranking of 8th in the Top 125, SCC surpassed many industry giants that include Lockheed Martin Corporation (12), Cerner Corporation (21), Alltel Communications (38), The Home Depot (64), Delta Airlines (69), and Cox Communications (116). “It’s evident that our employee training has paid off,” observes Jean Hakim, President, SCC Soft Computer. “When you look at the marquee accounts SCC has won and maintained over the years (including NIH, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson, Mt. Sinai, Beth Israel, Genzyme, and more) in the face of some pretty tough competition, we can see the fruits of our labor – from product development and testing, to cultivating client contacts and making the sale, to designing interfaces and customizations, to implementation and Go-Live, to providing client education and continued support.”

“SCC’s Educational Services department has come a long way in a relatively short time,” says Don Keller, SCC’s Vice President of Global Education & Training, and Marketing Manager. “The department was founded in 1998, and we built it [the department] from the ground up.” Mr. Keller continues, “In the past several years, SCC has been awarded training grants from the State of Florida that enable medium-sized businesses like ours to purchase materials and outsourced training classes for employees. This training always includes classes for the Educational Services staff so they can continue to develop their own careers as well as those of SCC staff.”

For nearly 30 years, SCC Soft Computer has been meeting the needs of the healthcare industry by providing powerful, clinical information solutions to hospitals, large IDNs (integrated delivery networks), and laboratories. SCC offers full suites of Web-enabled clinical information management software solutions that make it possible for clients to do more in less time with fewer full-time employees. The company is at the forefront of laboratory, genetics, blood services, outreach, pharmacy, and radiology information systems software development.
