SCC Soft Computer Honored with 2007 Top 125 Training Award

April 13, 2007

Clearwater, FL - Training magazine has announced that SCC Soft Computer was selected for the fifth time in six years for a coveted ranking among many of the world’s top companies for employee-sponsored workforce training and development.

Training magazine began its Top 100 ranking in 2001, in which SCC ranked 93, and has since dramatically advanced up the ranking list. This year, the Company made an unprecedented leap from its 2006 ranking of 51 in the Top 100 to 14 in the Top 125. With its 2007 placement in the top 15, the Company joins the ranks of industry powerhouses like Lockheed Martin Corporation (11), Ritz-Carlton Hotel (1), Pricewaterhouse-Coopers (2), Verizon Wireless (4), and General Mills (5). “Our 2007 ranking among many of the most prestigious companies in the world is especially satisfying,” says a visibly pleased Jean Hakim, President, SCC Soft Computer. “Many of the companies in the Top 125 are large, well-established, industry giants. We are proud of how far we have come since we were first established in 1979.” He continued, “we recognize that our employees are our greatest asset, so employee education, training, and development are top priorities for SCC and will continue to be.”

SCC was chosen as 14th based on its qualitative and quantitative response to the publication’s questionnaire, as well as the Company’s multi-pronged approach to career counseling, English as a second language tutoring program to assist workers with developing English-language skills, virtual and traditional management training for remote employees, and team building and train-the-mentor courses for both management and non-managerial staff.

SCC Soft Computer invests an average of 80 hours per employee per year training each individual employee. SCC offers employees numerous educational benefits, including tuition reimbursement. “As advocates of blended learning,” says Don Keller, SCC’s Director of Educational Services, “we’re constantly evaluating multiple approaches to education and learning in order to find the best ways to deliver training to SCC staff. We believe that our traditional and virtual methods enable us to reach more employees and provide learning opportunities not only to those staff in our corporate offices, but to those in remote locations, from the comfort of their homes, and when traveling. We also encourage SCC staff to take advantage of SCC’s generous tuition reimbursement plan, which enables them to take college courses that will expand their skill sets.”

For nearly 30 years, SCC Soft Computer has been meeting the needs of the healthcare industry by providing powerful, clinical information solutions to hospitals, large IDNs (integrated delivery networks), and laboratories. SCC offers full suites of Web-enabled clinical information management software that enable clients to do more in less time with fewer full-time employees.
