SCC Soft Computer Awarded Grant From State of Florida to Augment Employee Training
Clearwater, FL-Leading software manufacturer, SCC Soft Computer, was awarded funds from the Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) grant by the State of Florida to augment SCC’s 2007 employee training program. SCC Soft Computer, a leader in clinical information systems, has developed an employee-training program to assist in the development of customer support, quality, IT, training, and administrative teams. This continuing education for SCC staff will enable the Company to remain a leader in the highly competitive healthcare information technology marketplace.
SCC Soft Computer’s employee training program for 2007 will include third-party vendors as well as in-house training. Certifications provided by this training will permit SCC staff to advance into positions of greater responsibility. Courses taken by SCC’s instructional designers and trainers will allow the Company’s Educational Services department to develop courses that will meet the needs of other employees.
“This funding from the State of Florida is a great benefit for SCC. In addition to enabling SCC staff to maintain various software certifications, this training will allow SCC to continue on as a leader in the LIS market,” said Don Keller, Director of Educational Services and Marketing Manager. “SCC employees have great enthusiasm for training to improve their own knowledge base, so they can perform better on the job. By offering what employees really need, it will enable SCC to better serve the needs of our customers, thus resulting in the increased profitability of the Company.”
SCC Soft Computer created an employee-training program for 2007 that the IWT Grant will support. Various classes will assist with product development and include system software training, which is required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); information technology (IT) training, used so that SCC can maintain its ability to partner with IBM and Oracle; and project reporting and querying. Positive results are expected from this program.
This is the third IWT Grant funding that SCC Soft Computer has been awarded by the State of Florida. The Company shows a great focus towards employee development, along with client base growth. SCC has also been ranked in Healthcare Informatics’ annual Top 100 Training issue in four of the past five years for excellence in employee training.
