SCC Soft Computer Recognized as Top 100 TRAINING Organization

March 11, 2005

PALM HARBOR, FL.- SCC Soft Computer is pleased to announce that Training Magazine ranked SCC in their 2005 Training Top 100. The magazine places SCC Soft Computer 53rd out of a field of 18,000 companies nationwide. The 2005 Training Top 100 is a national ranking of companies whose workforce training and development initiatives far surpass their peers. IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, Pfizer Inc., Sprint Corp and KLA-Tencor Corp captured the top five spots on Training’s list.

“SCC Soft Computer is among those select companies that has raised the bar with its training initiatives,” said Richard Ausman, publisher of Training magazine. “SCC has embraced training and performance improvement as a strategy, and has dedicated significant resources to its training efforts.”

SCC Soft Computer considers training a mission-critical strategy. The SoftLab suite of products plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of clients’ workflow. SCC’s products are powerful, yet offer incredible flexibility in allowing laboratories to configure the software to meet their specific needs. To support their suite of products as a true business solution, the training SCC offers to their employees is ongoing and constantly changing. The company’s commitment to training has become an expected part of the company culture.

Training magazine’s Top 100 spent nearly $5 billion on training and development initiatives last year. On average, the Top 100 provides 53.5 hours of training per employee each year, funded by an average 4 percent of payroll—a full 1.4 points higher than the industry norm of 2.6 percent. It goes without saying that Training Top 100 companies are committed to workforce development.

The Training Top 100 ranks companies according to their level of investment in workforce development. The ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative data including financial investment in employee development, the type and scope of training and development programs provided to employees, the quality of these programs and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.

SCC was also honored with an Outstanding Initiative Award for their live videoconference management training for remote employees. The Outstanding Initiative Award was given to 12 corporations out of the 18,000. General Mills, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Booz Allen Hamilton were other recipients of the award.

SCC clients are located all over the world and many different time zones. The company takes schedules, time zones and learning preferences, all into consideration when preparing their curriculum. They have staff working flextime to conduct webinars and classes to accommodate everyone. SCC also offer a complete catalog of Internet and CD courses.
