SCC Soft Computer® Showcases Next-Generation AP and Genetics Platform at CAP’14 THE Pathologists’ Meeting™

September 3, 2014

(Clearwater, FL) September 3 – SCC Soft Computer (SCC) announced that they will showcase their next-generation anatomic pathology and genetics platform at CAP’14 THE Pathologists’ Meeting September 7 – 9 at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago, Illinois.

SCC will present a single-platform, fully integrated AP and Genetics LIS, unlike any other on the market. With the inclusion of molecular, cytogenetics, flow cytometry, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) testing in the anatomic pathology laboratory, SCC’s modern AP and Genetics LIS is capable of accommodating and automating the latest multi-technology testing protocols. SoftPathDx®, SCC’s diagnostic anatomic pathology and cytology support system, is designed for speed and efficiency. Users are able to share specimens between other labs, allowing for integrated resulting and the ability to track specimens throughout multiple environments.

A first in the AP-LIS industry, users of the system are able to design their own testing protocols and workflow. The workflow engine embedded in SoftPathDx allows the laboratory to incorporate new technologies and testing methodologies without the need to upgrade systems, protecting the AP-LIS investment. This meaningful workflow management in the genetics laboratory supports centralized or multisite operations, and is capable of interfacing to everything from molecular instruments and next generation sequencers to EMR systems. An integrated client communication portal also promotes electronic ordering, offering pathologists a gateway to review and sign out cases faster.
