SCC Soft Computer’s Marketing Department Honored with Two MarCom 2012 Awards

November 16, 2012

Clearwater, FL—SCC Soft Computer announced today that their marketing department has been selected to receive gold and platinum awards in the MarCom Awards 2012 competition.

The MarCom Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, and freelancers. The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. This is considered the most respected competition in the industry.

Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were over 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and several other countries in the MarCom Awards 2012 competition. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts—marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive.

About 18% of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization’s top honor. The MarCom’s prestigious Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. Platinum Winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. SCC’s Marketing department received the Platinum Award in the Marketing/Promotion/Materials/Calendar category for their original 2013 calendar featuring the photography of award-winning photographer, Steve Uzzell. This calendar was designed as a special gift to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Soft Network Users Group (SNUG).

The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. SCC’s Marketing department received the Gold Award in the Brochure/Special Events category for their unique special events brochure, “SNUG 2012 Reflections from the Silver Screen.” This creative collateral was the promotional brochure for the 20th annual SNUG Healthcare Information Technology Summit. The theme was inspired by the golden age of Hollywood and was carried throughout the entire conference, which culminated with a gala banquet, Hooray for Hollywood, complete with a spectacular musical show.

“SCC’s Marketing department is honored to be recognized for their creative, behind-the-scenes work,” said Don Keller, SCC’s Vice President of Global Education and Marketing.
