SNUG Announces Cancellation of September 12-16, 2021 SNUG Annual Conference

In response to growing concerns surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the SNUG Board and leadership of SCC Soft Computer have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming 28th Annual SNUG Conference scheduled for September 12 – 16 in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of SNUG.  However, with the rapid spread of this virus and the travel bans which have been set in place, we felt it was necessary to take the proactive step and cancel while refunds were still available to all vendors and attendees while also protecting the health and well-being of all those engaged in the conference” said Sonal Pandey, SNUG President.

We had been monitoring the latest information and registration numbers as the Delta variant and overall COVID-19 numbers continue to increase nationally and in the State of Florida.  The SNUG Board alongside SCC leadership noticed a rapid number of conference attendee cancellations, along with rising concerns the conference would not be able to meet our clients’ or vendors’ expectations from a return on investment perspective as they have for so many years in the past.

After cancelling the previous conference dates, this is especially difficult given the amount of time and effort many of our clients and SCC Staff have put into planning and preparing for this year’s conference.  I would like to especially thank the many SCC staff who volunteered to present and worked with our teams in the planning efforts.  This is truly a group effort.

As disappointed as we are of this outcome, we are equally excited to leverage the positive efforts applied in 2021 to the 2022 SNUG Conference, May 8 – 12 in Clearwater, Florida.  Please mark your calendars now for next year’s annual conference.

Please continue to watch our website at www.snuginconline.org for updates on next year’s SNUG conference.
