REASONS TO ADD THE TOPIC: This is for both the gene and lab modules patient maintenance sections.
We are able to create a security role that limits users from entering patient maintenance; however, if we do this, users will not be able to create/admit patients in Order Entry. There should be further granularity within patient maintenance that will allow us to create user roles that will allow a group of users to create/admit patients, but prevent them from making edits to the patient record such as demographics or chart #, within patient maintenance after the patient record has been initially saved.
