Australian Red Cross Blood Service and SCC Soft Computer initiate implementation planning study for new laboratory information management systemApril 23, 2018 « go back | printer friendly version (Clearwater, FL) April 23, 2018 – SCC Soft Computer (SCC) and Australian Red Cross Blood Service (the Blood Service) have initiated an implementation planning study to assess SCC’s laboratory and genetics information management systems—including SCC’s SoftMolecular®, SoftHLA®, SoftTotalQC®, SoftMedia®, SoftBI®, SoftGenePortal®, and SoftDMI®— in delivering capabilities that meet the Blood Services’ current and future laboratory needs. Serving a customer network of 600-plus hospital and health providers and supplying blood to 23 million people across 7 million square kilometers, the Blood Service is seeking a laboratory information management system (LIMS) for use in their Manufacturing, Red Cell Reference, and Transplantation & Immunogenetics Services divisions, which include 100 blood collection facilities, 4 major blood processing centers, and 2 major distribution hubs with approximately 3,500 employees and more than 1,000 non-donor volunteers. During the implementation planning study, the Blood Service and SCC are working together to map out an implementation strategy with best practices that will fulfill the project requirements in scope and on budget.
